Crumbling road edge.

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 352499.

Heavy vehicles have caused the carriageway edge to collapse, creating deep and hazardous edges on both sides of the narrow road.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
    An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 16:24, Saturday 27 March 2021

  • These dangerous carriageway edges continue to deteriorate. Work was scheduled for 16 July 2021 but was not done. The out of date signs remain in place. It is highly desirable that this work be completed within the current school holiday period and as soon as possible.

    We have now inspected the defect and no planned repair is necessary at this stage. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and inspect the road in line with our established service plan.
