Poor condition of road surface
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 11:03, Thu 4 March 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 352777.
Previous repairs have now sunk road and breaking up causing vibration to houses on this stretch of road and damage to those houses. Affects at least 7 houses. Vibrations radiate outwards and felt worse at the back of houses. Buses and HGVs have the worst impact. Buses are two per hour. Please do not close this as not bad enough it ruining sleep for several of us as we get woken by the bang as vehicles hit this part of the road. Small claims court may be needed to resolve house damage also where the cracks are many and getting bigger.

This problem is getting much worse and neighbours can now prove the issue is getting worse with invoices for decorating and now cracks reappearing in houses. The vibrations are very strong and the noise loud with buses and HGV crossing over the dropped repair and then the raised table shortly after. This has been going on for years and the council do nothing .

Thank you for your Highways report.
An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx.
Many thanks,
Central Bedfordshire Council Highways.

We know its in the system for works to be carried out but the issue is getting worse and the noise and vibrations are considerable and causing damage to property. A quick resolution carried out by a quality repair would be much appreciated. Being near a speed ramp too is causing double the issue. Please feel free to remove the speed hump as doesn't do much good for slowing traffic.

Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. Many thanks,
Central Bedfordshire Council Highways. The assessed works do require a road closure which can lead to a delay while a permit is agreed. This work is still due to be undertaken.
