Is 33 Ivel Road Shefford
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 10:15, Tue 27 April 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 355421.
The speed humps at this address are not effective and causing the houses to vibrate and shudder. They are also breaking up under the impact. We feel that the removal of the speed bumps and an alternative (Shicain traffic calming) is added instead. The repair of the speed bumps will not be cost effective as they will constantly need repairing. We believe a shicain type traffic calming system will not need continued repair, and will solve the house vibration issue.

Contracts team confirmed the following - If a resident wishes to make a formal claim regarding the s278 highway improvement works they will need to do so under the Land Compensation Act 1973.
Part 1 of the Act allows individuals with certain interests in property (typically homeowners) to claim compensation for diminution in value caused to their property, as a result of physical factors brought about by the use of new or (in certain situations) altered public works (i.e. aerodromes or public roads).
