Heading into Ridgmont village from Husborne Crawley direction.
Reported via desktop in the Signs category anonymously at 11:38, Mon 17 May 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 356258.
The speed limit through the village is 20 miles per hour. The speed awareness sign doesn't work and the flashing yellow lights reminding motorists they are approaching a school isn't terribly visible. This problem has been such for years. I would be VERY grateful if this could be remedied as soon as possible.

Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Your request has been passed to our Traffic Management Team for further investigation. They will inspect the area, look at existing records and investigate the feasibility of the request. They may need to carry out new surveys and consult local Councils or other bodies. They will consider existing budgets and other requests before deciding on the best course of action. All cases vary but this work can often take 4 or more weeks to complete. Please contact us 0300 300 8049 if you would like more information on the progress of this report.

Thank you for contacting the Traffic Management team regarding the High Street in Ridgmont. The speed indicator sign that is no longer working is a redundant asset and we are not able to repair. We would not replace this speed sign as traffic calming measures have since been installed in the form of a speed hump to slow traffic down along this stretch of the road, therefore a speed indicator is not required at this location. In relation to the flashing school warning sign, we shall arrange for the maintenance team to inspect to ensure it is visible and working properly.
