Speeding is a constant issue throughout Eaton bray, many residents have complained about it especially on Bower lane. We've got a mixture of times this happens, rush hours and late at night. Cars, vans all going about 50mph not 30mph. Something needs to be done.

Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Requests for speed limit changes/traffic calming will be reviewed and prioritised accordingly against all other requests across the county. We do not alter speed limits based on the perception of an issue. Requests will be reviewed based on a number of factors including collision history and independent traffic volume and speed counts over a 7 day, 24 hour period, along with meeting suitability with DfT guidance and prioritised accordingly. Should the request meet all the criteria it may be added to the Capital Works Programme for future years.

Still open, via questionnaire, 10:09, Thursday 17 June 2021
We receive many requests for traffic calming measures which far outweigh the limited funding available for these schemes. Our funds are targeted at areas with a history of speed-related collisions and measures will only be introduced at locations where there is an identifiable problem (that is, a trend in collisions) and will be chosen based on the likelihood of road safety improvements.
We note your request, but at this time you may wish to contact your local parish or town council in the first instance as they will need to support any request for further consideration to be given.
Any intervention will be prioritised based a data lead approach of speed and accident data for the area, and at this stage our planned works are already commited for the financial year on the Annual Plan.
State changed to: No further action
