My husband and I went to the spot where the pot hole was on Saturday 5th June and noted that there are now a number of yellow marks on the road indicating, what I presume will be, areas of the road where repairs are to be carried out to the various pot holes on this stretch of road.
I have attached various photographs of the pot hole which we measured. The depth of the hole was a staggering 8.5 cm deep and was approximately 2 metre long, although it was difficult to get a completely accurate reading of the length as this is a busy road. The start of the hole is elongated and therefore obscures the actual large hole in the road. However, it is clear that the depth of the hole at 8.5 cm would and did cause considerable damage to a tyre and in my case the wheel, as indicated in the photographs. The photographs show my front tyre and wheel but I am also having to have the rear tyre checked for damage.
I am used to driving around Central Bedfordshire and I am well aware of the hazards of pot holes and where to avoid them but what I find frustrating and extremely annoying is that this particular pot hole was reported to you over two weeks ago, but it was still left in this state and was a hazard to myself and other drivers.
