Footpath 15 (Astwood Drive) 2 large overgrown trees

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 21:57, Wed 2 June 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 357018.

Branches fell during recent winds, risk of hitting residents/path users and canopy of trees is near to house, is it possible for the trees to be cut back?

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
Those two large oaks are owned by the Hosuing Developer, I am investigating to find out whether the Council have adopted them or not, apologies for the delay. If we have, we will consider pruning to be undertaken after bird nesting season.

    Many thanks,

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Sorry for the delay, confirmation only came back recently, and they are my trees to manage. I am currently building a large package of works for Flitwick to be completed Winter 2022, based on the cyclical survey I am conducting, and I have ordered a crown reduction on these two oaks. I surveyed these trees in June, and found nothing urgent that required immediate work, but I am surveying the entirety of Flitwick from December onwards, and I will reasses my decision.

    Many thanks,
