Alleyway next to 22 melfort drive Lu72xn

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 20:03, Wed 16 June 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 357754.

There is a large tree in the side alley which hasn’t been cut for a few years and has become very large and overgrown. Today a large dead branch fell from the tree into my garden hitting my shed and damaging it . I realise it is nesting time for birds but could it be arranged for later in the year to be cut right back , I now have a damaged shed but if a larger branch were to break there is a danger of hitting my house or even worse a person.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Central Bedfordshire Council at 20:03, Wed 16 June 2021

  • Thank you for making a report, however Central Bedfordshire Council are not responsible for this matter. According to the Land Registry, the land directly to the west of the path (from the edge of the tarmac) belongs to the owners of 38 and 22 Melfort Drive. So the tree on the thin stretch of grass is privately owned. The Council has adopted the triangle of land to the east of the path.

    Many thanks,
