Abbey Lane meeting Poppy Drive

Reported via desktop in the Road markings and lining category anonymously at 11:52, Sat 19 June 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 358011.

This is a ridiculous situation where nobody seems to know the right of way. Normally, Abbey Lane has priority onto Oliver Street but because there are no broken white lines where Poppy Drive meets Abbey Lane then those approaching from the former assume they have right of way. A roundabout would have solved this issue but since that did not happen then surely some white lines would alleviate the problem and would reduce the subsequent stress levels incurred. The new pavement is rarely used as crossing the road twice is now necessary and the parked cars cause another problem. Finally, even though the area was not perfect with all the increased traffic, it was certainly better before all these "improvements" took place and now accidents are more likely to occur. In my opinion, this has been very poorly thought through
