Cherry trees/ bedford road a600 junction

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 10:50, Thursday 1 July 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 358621.

I live at no.26 cherry trees, lower stondon and have to exit this junction daily. Recently a new fence has been erected at boundary of path making very difficult to see without taking the car substantially into main road. The fence has been erected enclosing your street light within the sectioned off land It is only a matter of time before someone misjudges traffic on main road. The offender has done this before and was asked to move the fence back, this needs to be done again please. I am not alone in this view and other residents feel the same. Please help

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
We have inspected the area outside no 26, which appears to be set back some distance from the junction of bedford road. It would appear that the adjacent property has erected a new fence which does not cause a sight visibilty issue for motorists at this locus.
If this is still an issue please provide further information on your report to help us locate the problem.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways

  • Customer called back to reiterate the issue with the junction.

There is a small fence that has been erected as you exit Cherrytrees and turn onto the A600.

Customer mentions there is no visibility as you join the carriagaway and there is a pavment alongside the road in question. The fence is opposite number 32 the Cherry trees and is adjacent to A600.

Susan says this needs to be reinspected as she is a driving instructor and this is very dangerous.

Susan can be contacted on: 07835793142.
