Footpath o/s 303 Heath Road, LU7 3AX
Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 14:51, Wednesday 21 July 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 359577.
During 2020 the width of the footpath on Heath Road was increased. Since the completion of the work my drive has suffered significant flooding during either prolonged light rainfall all the way up to heavy rainfall. The increase in the surface area of the path, the non existent lip on the curb and the altered slope on the path have all lead to an increase of rain water flowing onto my drive, which exceeds the capacity of my soak away. Prior to the alterations to the footpath my drive suffered only minor flooding during very heavy rainfall. I haven't previously reported it to the council as I spoke with workmen outside my address who stated they were aware of the issues and work would be undertaken to remedy it. Unfortunately no work has occurred and the flooding on my drive continues. It has now led to a clear erosion mark on my drive and a damp mark on the first course of brick on my house around the flooding area. There is currently significant work by Anglian water outside my property and maybe during the road closure work could be undertaken to remedy the issues. Please can someone contact me to discuss.
