Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 359873.

Crossing over the road on foot dangerous. Traffic from roundabout very fast and foliage blocks view. Crossing well used with new build one side of road and Co-op the other. Fatality of pedestrians likely. Could a better crossing a little away from the roundabout be considered before accident happens please.

  • Thank you for contacting us in relation to Clophill roundabout and crossing facilities for pedestrians. Design improvements to the Clophill roundabout junction are currently being explored and include consideration of pedestrians. The costs associated with improvements to Clophill roundabout are significant and require external funding. With this in mind, Central Bedfordshire Council have submitted an Expression of Interest to Central Government to be considered for the ‘Levelling Up FundingÂ’ announced earlier this year and we remain hopeful that we will be able to secure external funding at some point in the future. Your comments will be passed across to the team managing the design/funding bid for the junction.
