Junction of Sharpenhoe Road with Barton Road A6 (Prince's Corner)

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category by John Spokes (Streatley Parish Council) at 11:29, Monday 9 August 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 360330.

Overgrown hedges to the north of the junction on the eastern side of the A6 are obstructing the view. This is making it difficult for anyone turning left out of Sharpenhoe Road to spot any vehicle travelling south that is overtaking and thereby risking collisions.

Please note this was previously reported by phone to Central Bedfordshire Council but was logged by CBC at an incorrect location (Ref 360322)

  • Thank you for contacting us. This issue does not come under the responsibility of our Highways Department, however we have forwarded this report to be reallocated to another service within the council.

We have written to the owners of the boundary hedgerows. Environmental services are responsible for grass cutting/strimming in the area, we have also passed this over to be investigated.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
