Outside the front of 15 Upperstone Close in the parking bay

Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 22:41, Thu 12 August 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 360480.

Every time there is a heavy rain fall, or anyone has running water whilst washing their car etc, the drain doesn’t drain properly. This results in water running along the path to the doorway of 15 Upperstone Close . There have been various attempts by the residents to see if there is an obvious blockage, but with no luck. This has been a problem for several years now, but recently has become much worse. It is concerning the residents that the houses integrity could be affected. Apart from the fact that is is very inconvenient trying to gain access to the property. It has also caused the neighbouring property 5 meadow way that backs onto the road to have had to replace their fencing due to rotting timber caused by the constant water. We are to understand that there used to be large trees on the site and wonder if there could possibly be some sort of hysterical root damage to the drain?

  • Customer called to advise that the drain is still flooding and when it does water is coming down near to the property. The next drain along is also flooding reguarly with the slightest rain and this is still ongoing. There was an update to say works order requested in Sept 2021. This is still a problem and customer is worried this will cause damage to her property with continued damp.
