Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361043.
The previous street light was bright and the road was well lit up at night. Unfortunately, the new design street lighting that was installed 31/08/21 is not bright enough at night and does not light up the surrounding area sufficiently and safely like the previous old one did. Dark areas attract burglars at night and during the winter months as they can't be seen so easily by people and CCTV. I was burgled two years ago, as the street light outside the house was poor lit and the lamp needed changing for a new one. It was eventually fixed by the Council, but it was too late, the damage had already been done by the burglars. What safe LUX level brightness should the street lights be for high paying Council Tax Payers to be safe at night knowing that the surrounding street area is well lit up, clearly visible and safe ? Dark spots and areas are dangerous for older people and pensioners especially during the winter months when you can't see clearly who is outside. Your earliest response is appreciated

Hello Renata,
Please can you call Ian on the above number regarding street lighting. He has been waiting for a call back for the last week and its starting to get frustrated no one is calling him back.
His home was broken into last year and wants to prevent this from happening again. Please give him a call or provide an update on insight.
Kind Regards,
