Tree Cut down and branches left in River

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 11:24, Wednesday 1 September 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361044.

Owners at the location of Canterbury Road have cut down a tree and this tree is not on their property. The workmen they hired cut down the tree and left large tree trunks in the river and this will eventually cause flooding or blockage to the flitwick river.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
Can you please give a WhatThreeWords location of where the tree was please? The Council do not own/manage any trees along Cantebury by the stream. That section of the stream is owned by the Housing Developer, so I imagine the Environmental Agency will be the most relevant organisation to inform.

    Many thanks,

  • What three words location is ///intial.chaos.trainer.

Who ever owns that land are responsible for what they have done or who ever have done. The Waterways are responsible in my understading to ensure sommoth running fof water and no blockage or blockage can occure.

My suggestion to the council is they try and establish who owns that land. and hold them accountable. I am pleased that you are looking into the matter.

I look forward to your reply.

    Kindest Regards

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Thank you, the tree did belong to the Developer, FIELDEN HOMES LIMITED. You can report the river issue with the Environmental Agency, (they normally want the primary witness).

    Many thanks,
