Kids in danger

Reported via Android in the Crossings category anonymously at 08:42, Tuesday 7 September 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361234.

Where is the Zebra Crossing? Where is the temporary crossing? Where is the Lollipop person? Where is the traffic calming? Where are the speed restrictions?

Kids and their parents are having to play 'chicken' with the arseholes who think that Potton Road is their own and drive like morons. Please do something about this or the local residents will have to and this would probably close the road to all through traffic.

  • Thank you for contacting us in relation to Potton Road in Biggleswade.

The proposed zebra crossing at Potton Road in Biggleswade was approved at the end of May 2021 at the Traffic Management Meeting. The scheme, as with all schemes of this nature, has been subject to a road safety audit, an independent check of the design to ensure it is user safe when implemented. Owing to the comments received back from this Road Safety Audit and the subsequent review/response process, the expected start of construction has unfortunately been delayed. In the meantime, we have arranged a temporary crossing point which will remain in place until a scheme is delivered, or a School Crossing Patrol is provided. This temporary crossing point should now be in place.

State changed to: No further action
