Immediately to the right of driveway to 42 Station Road (Home Farm)

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 11:15, Friday 10 September 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361358.

This tree has previously been reported but nothing was done. As you will see on the photo's our telephone line goes across the road, through the tree and then connected to our house. Three years ago the telephone wire was ripped due to the tree in high winds a few branches fell off. When I reported the issue the council came out and just took the branches off the road but did nothing about the tree. BT came and repaired the phone line but just put the line through the tree again. On a daily basis farm vehicles, high lorries and school buses smash into the tree as they go up and down the road in both directions due to parked cars on the opposite side. The tree needs cutting back and thinning out or removing. The size of the tree and other ground growth makes the pathway very slippery. I reported this when my phone line got ripped down the first time, I believe the Parish Council also previously reported due to the slippery pathway and elderly parishioners using the path, again don't believe anything was done. The large tree overhang needs cutting back and thinning out around the telephone line and overgrowth cutting back before I lose the telephone again. With working from home and home schooling and maybe further lockdowns we cannot be without our telephone and broadband as the phone signal in the village is almost non-existent.
