Gulley outside 59 Mill Road
Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 12:57, Tuesday 14 September 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361506.
Further to my original report and your response on the 24th August 2021. Up to the date of your response there was no significant rainfall. It is raining moderately now and the problem still exists. Today the gulley is covered with water and not going away. If we get any more rain it will again flood and does so all sides of the junction. It is due to the drains being blocked/inadequate and is also due to the road humps which create dams on each side. Assuming the humps are still required (which cause noise and vibration with the large lorries that use this junction) then as a minimum the drainage should be improved and the humps be amended to tapered humps, not kerb to kerb, as per those on Crane Way. This will allow the water to run off down the road and would at least alleviate the issue of flooding to my house and the pavements. The humps would also be more cycle friendly.

Yesterday I carried out my wet inspection for this location and there was no water runnning off the road into the driveway. This was at roughly 2pm. Please can you upload videos of the flooding on your driveway and if you require sandbags please contact customer service and we can deliver them to you.
