  • As you can see 2 cars parked on the pavement which prevents emergency vehicles from passing. This is to with safety, to inspect once during a weekday when people are at work is not a true reflection. i will add more photo's during the week

  • The only way Traffic Management can prevent pavement parking in this area, is to introudce parking restrictions.

The issue of parking and how to deal with problems is often viewed differently and there may not be a simple answer to a problem, especially where demand outweighs available road space. Parking restrictions will only be introduced where there is a clear need, with priority given to those relating to road safety. Central Bedfordshire Council currently reviews new parking restriction requests on a holistic basis, taking the wider area into account. Reacting to one concern in an isolated area can potentially move the problem to another area.
You may wish to contact your local parish or town council in the first instance as they will need to support any request for further consideration to be given. Other factors considered when assessing requests are:

    -accessibility
-the possibility of displacing the parking problem to another street
-how many people support or do not support the request.

Where a request is confirmed and justified by Officers and there is enough local support, they may be included in a future consultation to make a change to the Traffic Regulation Orders for that area. The whole process can be quite lengthy, and it can take up to 18 months to introduce any new parking restrictions. Thank you once again for your feedback.

State changed to: No further action
