Abbey Lane and poppy drive
Reported via mobile in the Road markings and lining category anonymously at 09:36, Monday 20 September 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361693.
I know that you are aware of this concerns raised about this junction, and that lines have now been painted on the road. However on Friday night there was a serious collision whereby a car smashed through the front garden of one of the houses. Whilst not noticed by many was the near miss that this car had with what appears to be a gas infrastructure, and the tyre marks from when the car left the road appear to show that this was missed by the out of control car by meters.... This was a near miss to what could have been devastating consequences for the occupants of the car, pedestrians, and occupants. I would be grateful if you could confirm if this is indeed gas equipment, and provide reassurance that if this had been hit by the car that it would have caused no danger as it is designed to withstand severe impact damage. Thank you for your Highways report.
