Overgrown hedges and trees. Green space Finch Walk Flitwick

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 15:49, Thursday 23 September 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 361841.

I note your unsatisfactory reply to my original concerns. Pathways are becoming increasingly overgrown and trees are impeding on housing. This matter cannot be left for another year as the area is a disgrace, encouraging anti social behaviour and inconveniencing residents with the potential for damage to property and injury to residents and visitors.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
I accept I did not address all the issues in your report. 1. Anti social behaviour is not a reason the Highways Department prune trees, but this can be reported to our more specialised team here - https://forms.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ officeforms/ Reporting_anti_social_behaviour.ofml. 2. I identified no defect that led me to believe that any of the tree's branches are a danger to any property - land owners can prune anything back to their property boundary to deal with nuisance, provided they dispose of arisings responsibly. 3. The vegetation encroaching onto the pathways is something the Highways Department will action, in Winter 2022.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
