One o one roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Road markings and lining category anonymously at 21:22, Friday 24 September 2021

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 19 hours, 7 minutes later. Council ref: 361876.

You’ve changed the way that drivers are taught to use a roundabout in the Highway Code! The left hand lane should be for left turns and straight on. For some inexplicable reason you’ve changed it so the left hand lane is only for left hand turns and now the right hand lane is for straight on. This is becoming a nightmare as cars sit over the new road markings and if you don’t know the layout has changed there is no way of knowing. What will happen when two cars both decide to go straight on and there is a collision? If you can’t see the road markings then who is responsible? It worked perfectly well before and I do not see the reason to have changed it, there will be an accident if there hasn’t been already.
