20mph signage in wrong position
Reported via mobile in the Signs category anonymously at 13:49, Sat 25 September 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 2 hours, 35 minutes later. Council ref: 361875.
The 20mph/30mph signs when entering and exiting Kingsway, Dunstable are in completely the wrong positions. When vehicles turn in and out of the junction, one side is behind a wall and not visible and the otherside is too close to the junction to see when turning in.
These signs ideally need moving a few meters further up the road and attached onto lamp number 1, so that cars can see the speed limits properly. Speeding is a major issue because nobody can see the signs in current positions.
Can this be inspected and reviewed.

Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Requests for speed limit changes/traffic calming will be reviewed and prioritised accordingly against all other requests across the county. We do not alter speed limits based on the perception of an issue. Requests will be reviewed based on a number of factors including collision history and independent traffic volume and speed counts over a 7 day, 24 hour period, along with meeting suitability with DfT guidance and prioritised accordingly. Should the request meet all the criteria it may be added to the Capital Works Programme for future years.
