Road surface smashed by contractors outside many residences on rectory lane
Reported via mobile in the Road Surface category by Anthony Mullin at 10:22, Fri 29 October 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 363158.
Contractors replaced the tarmac in Pembroke road on 28/10/21. All residents had to move their vehicles from outside their homes on rectory lane between 28-22. The contractors drove plant machinery up and down the lane, plus vast numbers of tarmac delivery vehicles weighing circa 25 tonne. This procession of weight and tracks has chewed up the road alongside the addresses mentioned to a dangerous degree. I approached the contractors regarding repairs to what they had damaged and they simply said it’s not their issue. Now, we have serious trip hazards in front of out home access and egress points, it is a struggle to get a buggy across these areas and I have 3 small children, plus there is severe risk to tyres and vehicle safety as a result of the damage. Please can this be rectified as immediately as possible as this is not damage over time - there was no issue prior to this road surfacing work to the road adjacent to our properties.
