Zebra crossing / parking / double yellow lines need re-painting
Reported via desktop in the Crossings category anonymously at 10:48, Wed 17 November 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 363877.
People continue to park on the double lines on the corner in front of the care home and in front (on the opposite side of the road) of the Bell. My daughter was also hit her this morning because cars come round the corner too fast, and as a pedestrian you can't see round the corner when cars are parked on the double yellow lines. Ideally a zebra crossing needs installing here, no parking signs installed and the lines also need re-painting as they are faded to make it really clear to cars that they can not park here.

Thank you for contacting us in relation to Bedford Road in Marston Moretaine. We have passed on your comments regarding cars parked on the double yellow lines to the enforcement team so they are aware of this issue. We shall also ask the maintenance team to investigate whether any lining works need a refresh, however if they are in need of a re-paint, this cannot be done during the winter months owing to wet and icy conditions. With regards to a new zebra crossing, there is already a signalised crossing outside the Care Home, therefore we would not consider a zebra crossing at this location. Thank you once again for your feedback

Area team - Please can you investigate whether the waiting restrictions require a refresh at this location? Explained to customer that if they require a refresh this wont get done until spring next year.
