Sampshill Road, near the railway bridge and salt bin
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 11:03, Thu 2 December 2021
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 364370.
There are two parallel cracks going up the hill. The first one starts about 20 metres from the railway bridge and is on the near side of the road. It extends up the hill to about 15 meters past the grit-salt bin. There are very serious cracks in the road surface. In places the cracks are 2” wide and in one particular place the crack is 4” wide. These are extremely dangerous especially for pedal cyclists. If a wheel get stuck in a crack it could have serious consequences. The other crack is in the middle of the carriageway and is particularly bad from about the grit-salt bin extending up the hill. The road surface on one side of the crack has subsided about 2”. Again, like the other one it needs attention as soon as possible
