37 Bedford Road

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 364501.
We live at 37 Bedford Road Marston Mortaine MK43 0ND and we have double yellow lines outside our home & they cover no 35 & 33.
Fortunately we have a single driveway but swapping over the vehicles is becoming difficult and dangerous. We are unable to safely do this without parking on double yellow lines without a 300 mts walk to the nearest parking area which is outside Capt Tom's gates, as the nearest parking is already allocated to the cottages and rarely available. This has been caused as the Bell Pub car park now charging to use their facilities and this is managed by a 3rd party operator.
I would like to know what the process is to apply to see if they could be removed allowing vehicles to park outside our homes, with a further benefit that it should calm the traffic speed, which is already an issue.
Please see attached photos to help explain the request.
I’ve not discussed with my neighbour until I know the application process.
Please let me know who will be dealing with this application so I can follow up in the very near future.

Thank you for contacting us in relation to Bedford Road in Marston Moretaine. The waiting restrictions have been in place for over a decade and prevent congestion along the road. We would not consider removing them in these circumstances.
As with any double yellow lines, motorists have a 5 minute observation period before enforcement would take place which allows sufficent time for cars to be swapped over outside your house. To confirm, you can park on the double yellow lines for a period of 5 minutes.
State changed to: No further action
