Pavement in chapel close Toddington

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 15:51, Thursday 20 January 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 366143.

The pavement is so bad in the whole of chapel close Toddington you have to look down all the time or risk falling. Being disabled and having to walk with a walker it keeps suddenly getting stuck in dips and cracks so making me suddenly jar to a stop. I can't walk out in the evening it is too dangerous. I have fallen a couple of times. It is just so uneven. Even going down Grange road is bad. Chapel close and Grange road it's up and down slanting to the left and right. It's such a strain to walk. I have been told to excersie but it's so dangerous to walk in the village.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
We have now inspected the defect and no planned repair is necessary at this stage. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and inspect the road in line with our established service plan. We have inspected 2 or 3 times recently and while we understand there is uneven sections that have rises, we are unable to completley resurface both of these roads to rectify this at the current time.

Thank you for reporting this matter,
