Mini r/a norton road/baldock road
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 10:40, Sat 22 January 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 366207.
The high street has been marked for resurfacing some 10 months ago (nothing actually done to it since mind?!!) but the start point is just prior to the mini roundabout on the high street. the resurfacing needs to continue to INCLUDE the mini roundabout AND the section of norton road to the raised platform by junc with murrell lane. if all the equipment is going to be there....why do half a job and leave a knackered, potholed, failed/poor repairs, rutted, uneven road surface which will quickly just decay into more potholes?? come on.....do a decent job for once!

Following email sent to Mark Eaton and Simon Bailey
Hello Mark.
Scott Terry highways area North 1 has advised me to forward a residents request regarding road resurfacing along Baldock Road , Stotfold , to you and Simon Bailey.
See CRNs 366207 and 355815 . The resident is Alan Hopkins and his contact number is : XXXXXX. Number is included in the email sent
His complaint is that the section of road that was marked up over 10 months ago is the only section they are working on at the moment however just 100 yards away there are also sections of the road that are just as bad.
Here below highlighted is what Mr Hopkins says
The high street has been marked for resurfacing some 10 months ago (nothing actually done to it since mind?!!) but the start point is just prior to the mini roundabout on the high street. the resurfacing needs to continue to INCLUDE the mini roundabout AND the section of Norton road to the raised platform by junction with Murrell lane.

Requesting we contact him in order for him to explain and if possible arrange a date to visit so he can show you what he is talking about.

Good afternoon,
I have had a complaint through regarding the works going on Baldock Road Stotfold
Last year in April resident reported extra defects in the road after seeing some areas being sprayed up for repair.
These tickets where closed under the reasoning that they would be repaired as part of this work programme.
Nothing happened for around 11 months and then we went back out to respray the arears for repair.
At this point we did not spray the other areas of concern the resident raised so he reported them again to us.
Mini Round about : 355915 stated works would be included to correct this
Queens streets 366203, 355002, stated work would be included as part of the 22/23 resurfacing works.
The works have not been done which is unfortunate because they are there right now with the necessary equipment and it seems wasteful not to utilize this opportunity , and we told reporter we would do this work.
He went to visit the site and explained the situation to the men who said they did not understand why the areas he reported where not included as part of the work and would contact Simon Bailey/Mark Eaton . This was the clerk of works.
I can see Simon is off today unfortunately.
Darren can you please look into this and respond to the residents complaint, he asked me to attach a copy of my call with him so you can listen to everything he said which I will send in another email.
Wants to raise a complaint about the whole situation and wants to know 1. Why we told him these areas would be fixed as part of the planned works. 2. Why the arears have not been included 3. General frustration and difficulty in raising his concerns.
I will update the ticket 366207 with reference to the complaint
