Lime Trees behind Warwick Close, Flitwick

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 10:52, Thursday 27 January 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 366461.

This large and heavy branch came down in our garden (5 Warwick, pictures attached) last week. The garden is not large and my children and dog play in it regularly. Had this hit one of them the consequences would have been horrendous. I raised concerns last year after my wife was hit by a falling branch - Council ref: 352649. Work is scheduled and I have just seen contractors looking at trees further down behind Kestrel road. These trees where cut far more recently. Ours have not been done for over 12 years. I believe 24 trees are being done under application CB/TRE/21/00329 T1-17 and T18-24and assume they are doing part of that now. A further application CB/TRE/21/00129 relates specifically to houses 3 and 5 Warwick - Trees T16-20 was also approved last year. The contractors told me they were not looking at T16-20 as they are in the garden boundaries, they are not! Please can these trees be prioritised as they are the most in need of maintenance on the whole parade and are clearly now dangerous.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
To confirm, the trees behind your property are being reduced within this work package. The aim is to have them all finished within 2 weeks. I will reinspect the tree after they're pruned to assess whether there is anymore hazardous deadwood.

Thank you for reporting this matter,
