Plantation Road between Adams Bottom and Badgers Brk

I live at 113 Plantation Road. The stretch of Plantation Road from Badgers Brk to Adams Bottom has become a race track.

This morning, yet again, another near miss was recorded when a woman driving a Landrover which was traveling at high speed along Plantation road from the direction of Adams Bottom swerved to avoid a car that had marginally pulled out of Greenhill.

She struggled to control the car, veering across the road, and narrowly missed me and my Dalmatians on the opposite pavement.

Just a few months ago the road was closed due to an overturned car, and it is a daily occurrence, especially during peak periods that cars are racing along this stretch of Plantation Rd.

It was not long ago that Road Safety Officers were measuring traffic speeds and in discussion with them they agreed that this was an area that required road calming measures.

​Please can something be done before someone is seriously injured.

  • Traffic Management Team are looking in to previous concerns raised in relation to Plantation Road. Speed data will be collected at some point in the new financial year - I'm afraid I can't provide a specific timescale for any investigation at this moment in time.
