One way sign between 5 and 7 King Street
Reported via desktop in the Lit Signs category anonymously at 14:18, Wed 16 March 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 369216x.
One way sign between 5 and 7 King Steet Light on sign not working was first reported last year but the problem is still not resolved. It was reported again this year but still not fixed, yet fixmystreet still closed this report. It would be nice if you resolved the issue before closing the report of the problem.

Over a year on and the problem is not resolved. How long does it take to fix a piece of street lighting? If the council is unable or unwilling to resolve the problem maybe it should remove itself from reporting on the fix my street app.

The lighting on the sign has still not been fixed. Obviously the council feel this is not an import enough matter to be addressed. As the sign is a one way sign we have more and more drivers at night turning in the junction opposite and driving down the street the wrong direction causing a dangerous situation for drivers turning into the street. This dangerous situation has been raised on more than one occasion, with the councils response been to report the drivers to the police, therefore putting the responsibility on the residents of the street, because they don't want to sort out the signage. Does there have to be a serious accident on this part of the road to have the issues resolved. Shame on central Bedfordshire council.

In 2022 you raised a FixMyStreet request to Central Bedfordshire. We are contacting you to notify you that your report has been closed from our system. We have recently begun our partnership with a new Highways contractor and as a result we need to close previous cases that were outstanding with the previous contractor, this is part of an ongoing administrative process.
If the issue is outstanding and you believe it to be an emergency, such as exposed electrical wires, please contact us on 0300 300 8049.
If you see issues on the highways network, please continue to report these directly through FixMyStreet.
Many thanks,
Central Bedfordshire CouncilState changed to: no further action
