Broken light fixture, other light not coming on
Reported via mobile in the Street Lights category by Kathleen Hammond at 19:38, Sun 20 March 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 369446.
The ally going behind bungalows No 5,6 and 7 Drury close are not working. One is broken the other just not coming on. This is a security issue as behind the bungalows it is very dark and you cannot see if anyone is in the ally. I was informed by a neighbour No 5 back door was open, no one saw anyone.

The first lamp is working but the lamppost in the communal ally behind the bungalows/ 5,6, and No7 has not been fixed. The whole cover is still hanging down and wires exposed. As explained previously, it was damaged by the high winds we had some months ago. The tree in No6 Drury close garden, had damaged it when the branches got blows all ways. I am sick of phoning up about this, the council seem to be just egnoring it. I informed them it is very dark in the ally way and if anyone was in the ally we would not be able to see them. This is a security issue yet they fail to address it. I should not have to keep chasing this.

Hello Ren.
See CRN : 369446
Resident says that our contractors have been out to repair the lamp. However one of the lamps is still not working.
Located behind numbers 5 . 6 , 7 Drury Close. These are council properties. Says there is a note left by our contractors on the lamp regarding a tree issue.
Call was cut off before I could hear the full info on the note. . Could not see the phone number for the resident to call her back. The resident has already spoken to Housing repairs who have then put her through to Highways customer services line ----Email also sent to street lighting

Customer emailed to advise that the streetlighting has not been repaired although the CRN does advise this was repaired in March. Please can this be reinspected and repaired asap. Thanks.

Hi, just to clarify, there were two lampposts that were not working, they fixed one and are awar of the other one.
I have spoken yo them saying the actual light apartment is broken and there are wires hanging down.
They advised I contact the council regards to the tree that caused the breakage of the lamppost.
The tree is not mine, it is my neighbours but as she is nearly 99 I said I would report it for her.
To me it seems they cannot fix the said lamppost until the tree is addressed.
Can the council please address this, they need to communicate with each other rather than batting it to and fro.
Why are the council not addressing the tree?
My neighbour at number 6 Drury close said she has not been contacted regards to this.
I have attached a photo of the lamppost and of proof they have been out/ job number on lamppost.
This has been going on far too long and someone needs to take accountability rather than just saying you will contact them
I have contacted them at least 6 times and each time they say contacted the council regards to the tree as, this, from what I gather is why the lamppost has not been fixed.
No one is telling me anything so please can they give me an update on this.

The situation is the same, the light has not been fixed. I have attached photo and sign left on lampost some time ago. I still haven't received any explanation as to why this is taking so long. Please update me
Kind regards

Email sent to SL from DF (HLT) team as follows:
Ren, this CRN has not been updated since March, can an update please be posted to this request so that CSAs can update the resident when contacted.
Also, what is the issue here, is it supply or something else please?
If an update can be posted as to what the issue is and a likely date this will be repaired, that would be appreciated.
Thanks all,
