Chiltern Road Pavement around Worthingto Road and West Parade

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 13:39, Tuesday 5 April 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 370131.

Following a previous report and response "There is no necessity for bollards at location due to double yellow lines. if you spot anyone parking in breach of restrictions you can report the matter to our parking enforcement team" I am sorry to report that this response does not address the need for bollards to protect the pavement from parking abuse. The double yellow lines are meaningless because there is not enforcement. The concrete bollards where there to disuade pavement parking opposite The chinese takeaway. On saturday evening I counted 9 vehicles parked partly or fuully on the pavement of which 5 were on double yellow lines. I am unable to report this as there are no parking enforcement officers out during the evening or generally on the weekends except during the day on Saturday.

A Zebra crossing is due to be installed which will be abised on pavement parking and will increase parking abuse.

Quite frankly the parking probelm is intolerable for the local residents I have spoken to.
