The area at the bottom of Soulbury Road – opposite Dillamores undertakers and just outside Yirrells the Butcher in Leighton Buzzard

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 371039.
Referral received by Adult safeguarding team regarding vulnerable gentleman with mobility difficulties. uses a walker to access the community, he does exhibit signs of anxiety around slopes and hills which has been exacerbated in the last two years. He has been avoiding the area at the bottom of Soulbury Road – opposite Dillamores undertakers and just outside Yirrells the Butcher in Leighton Buzzard, he will seek an alternative route if possible. Vulnerable adult is reluctant to access the community alone currently (an unfortunate result of the Pandemic enforced lockdowns) and Mencap staff are trying to encourage him to access the local town centre, however, he is very anxious with the uneven pavement all the way down from Chelsea House to the wing road. Previously reported- Unfortunately, what is not recognised is the fact that person uses a walker and is terrified of falling. The uneven ground makes it very difficult for anyone with mobility issues or even sight problems.
