Entrance to Lowry Drive from Windsor roundabout
Reported via mobile in the Road markings and lining category by Paul Lloyd at 20:49, Tue 7 June 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 372263.
There’s been ongoing problem with vehicles parking along the entrance to Lowry Drive since forever. Trucks, contractors vans and even visitors of st. Thomas meeting place parking all over street blocking view and even road itself all over right to the crossing sometimes even on it and in rare cases between it and the roundabout itself. It’s been causing a lot of dangerous situations from near crashes to pedestrians having problems with crossing without getting nearly run over. It is popular root for many children going to school, they aren’t as visible as adults. I’m appealing for double lines along both sides of entrance to the street for at least 20 meters from the roundabout

We acknowledge the concerns raised in relation to this location. We receive many requests of a similar nature throughout the year, and due to funding and resource, we unfortunately can only take forward the ones deemed to be the most safety critical need.
This has been added to our list of requests for review, and we will prioritise against all other requests in due course, but I'm afraid we're not able to advise on a timescale or likelihood of implementation at this point. Should we move forward with this request, a public consultation will need to be carried out before we are able to proceed.
State changed to: No further action
