Entire route of a6 between Silsoe and barton

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 09:29, Saturday 11 June 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 372387.

Shocking to see the state of this one and only pedestrian route between the villages. Poor state of the pavement - I choose to run on the A6 because the risk of being blinded by over hanging hedges, and the terrible state of the footpath - someone will be seriously injured soon. A dead muntjac was reported 4 weeks ago...still there!

The weeds, grasses and hedges are nearly 4ft high in parts. I’m 5’3 and have to run with my arms up to stop being stung by nettles, hurdling every type of plant going and generally not ‘road running’ despite apparent being on a pedestrian / cycle way.

This stretch of road should never get to this stage, it’s not some back road in the ‘sticks’ - with what we pay for council tax this should be maintained to a significantly better standard than it has been for the past few years.
