First speed hump as you enter Appenine Way from Hockliffe Road driving towards Jupiter Drive

Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 16:59, Wednesday 29 June 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373159.

There is a speed hump located in Appenine Way in close proximity to my property at 32 Jupiter Drive. The speed hump was modified some time ago but the issue of noise has never been addressed despite previous complaints. Because of the way the speed hump has been constructed vehicles strike the speed hump which causes tremendous noise that can be heard inside my house with the windows closed and the television on. It actually makes myself , my family and even our pets jump on occasion. it is very unpleasant and upsetting. furthermore I have started a new job which requires working from home , but the noise makes this intolerable. You can clearly see the amount of damage caused to the surface of the speed hump in the photos. Heavy goods vehicles also pass through regularly despite the signage at the entrance to Appenine Way clearly stating that this is forbidden. I believe the recent house building and increase in traffic has also contributed to the frequency of the noise problem. Even at low speed vehicles are causing noise, but the majority of vehicles exceed the speed limit anyway. I can provide evidence of the noise issue if required.
