Overgrowth
Reported via iOS in the Pavement and Cycle path category by Cllr Frank Firth at 10:37, Tue 5 July 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373336x.
It has been brought to my attention that the unofficial footway from our HWRC to the A1 is such that the under growth makes it impassable for users. With the new industrial development this footway is now used by workers from Biggleswade to gain access to the site. Moreover I am informed that one gentleman on a. O I lift scooter users the footway. Could I respectfully ask that the footway be cleared of such that to enable safe and unobstructed passage.

Thank you for your Highways report.
We have now inspected the defect and no planned repair is necessary at this stage. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and inspect the road in line with our established service plan.
Hello, I have cut back some of the brambles that are overhanging the footway for you so the path is clear to walk along.
Thank you for reporting this matter,

Call from a resident mentioning report from cllr saying that this is still an issue. That this is pretty much impassable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and buggies. Resident has been scratched by the brambles and is asking for some proper work to be undertaken to make it easier and safer for people. Resident suggested removing the shicane and installing a gate which would ease the pressure on maintenance

In 2022 you raised a FixMyStreet request to Central Bedfordshire. We are contacting you to notify you that your report has been closed from our system. We have recently begun our partnership with a new Highways contractor and as a result we need to close previous cases that were outstanding with the previous contractor, this is part of an ongoing administrative process.
If the issue is outstanding and you believe it to be an emergency, such as exposed electrical wires, please contact us on 0300 300 8049.
If you see issues on the highways network, please continue to report these directly through FixMyStreet.
Many thanks,
