Bury Hill Potton

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 16:00, Sunday 17 July 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373751.

Streetworks Permit No UC020-CAP-22/25-2444. During the completion of these works so far, there has been no alternative footpath for pedestrians to pass up Bury Hill, resulting in people walking within the traffic light controlled carriageway. - Not in compliance with the streetworks act. Whilst it is understandable that this would be difficult to manage whilst works are in progress, at the end of the working day a pedestrian walkway could easily have been coned out. This has not happened at all, my neighbour is disabled and is having to navigate this on a mobility scooter - totally unacceptable. Workers on Saturday morning were not 1st language English speakers and I doubt holders of the necessary street works qualifications !!! I did not feel their spoken English was good enough for me to communicate what was needed.
