Greenfield Road - bordering Nature Reserve
Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 08:33, Fri 29 July 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 374129.
The footpath, is so narrow because of growth from the ditch (the road side - not the farmers side) that you cannot get a double buggy or a wide single buggy safely down the footpath. This dreadful maintenance problem could cause pedestrians to be forced to step into the road. The path needs cleaning so it’s natural width can be fully used. Lots of people use this dangerous path because they have mo choice. The use the newsagents just a few hundred yards past the lethally narrow footpath on the Ben on the opposite side of the road to the mill. Here- even a pedestrian has to step off the council’s footpath into the road risking life and limb. An accident will happen if something isn’t done! It is impossible to take a child’s buggy past this bend, because the maintenance of the path is non-existent (by the council not clearing back plantgrowth to the edge of the tarmac), and also because the hedge pushes out into the road. Even cycling by forces the road user out from the edge of the road.
