Outside 121 and 119 hitchin road street lights
Reported via desktop in the Street Lights category anonymously at 20:02, Wed 3 August 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 374347x.
Ref: 364872. I asked can light shields be fitted outside our house – Light Shields then fitted
New: 374037.
Couple of weeks ago a light shield was fitted to these two street lights. After waiting two weeks the lights shields are not working. Please can bigger shields be put in place and the bulbs replaced with less wattage.
Reply Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Our engineers have made repairs to resolve the fault you reported. If this streetlight stops working again, which can sometimes happen,we would be grateful if you could report this issue again.lower watt lantern replaced.
I am really struggling to understand. Nowhere did I say the streetlights are not working.
1. The light shields that were put up are not working the lights are still too bright in front and the back of our house keeping me up all night. 2. Please can lower wattage bulbs be installed and bigger shields
What do you mean lower watt lantern replaced-No lower watt lantern has been replaced or installed
Thank you

In 2022 you raised a FixMyStreet request to Central Bedfordshire. We are contacting you to notify you that your report has been closed from our system. We have recently begun our partnership with a new Highways contractor and as a result we need to close previous cases that were outstanding with the previous contractor, this is part of an ongoing administrative process.
If the issue is outstanding and you believe it to be an emergency, such as exposed electrical wires, please contact us on 0300 300 8049.
If you see issues on the highways network, please continue to report these directly through FixMyStreet.
Many thanks,
Central Bedfordshire CouncilState changed to: no further action
