Streetlamp 10 - directly outside community centre on Whiston Crescent and streetlamp 13a, middle of alleyway between Whiston Crescent and Church Stree

Reported via desktop in the Street Lights category anonymously at 11:54, Monday 8 August 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 374462.

These two lamps have been out since April 2022. This entire area is extremely dark at night and is directly outside the houses of elderly and very vulnerable residents, it is also the area where members of the public enter the community centre. In addition, in recent months there has been an uptick in antisocial behaviour in this area including criminal damage and drug use. It is unacceptable that vulnerable community members cannot use these public paths safely and are put at risk for nearly 4 months. This also leaves CBC wide open to litigation if you do not pursue the energy provider more robustly, in the event that a resident is injured or victim of antisocial behaviour as a result of this. That is litigation that could be easily avoided. Large numbers of unaccompanied school children also use this alleyway, and I would suggest that CBC action this more assertively than they recently have to avoid potential liability.
