Between 46 and 48 Princes Street there is excessive damage to the path

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 08:43, Monday 15 August 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 374657.

Residents illegally mount the kerb and cross the path multiple times a day to access their “drives” that do not have a drop curb, and despite a single yellow line being on the road (they park and cross at all times throughout the day). They also regularly park with their cars blocking the path.

I have already sprained my ankle due to the uneven surface on the park, and feel concerned for the safety of older people trying to use the path. I also do not want someone to make a claim against the council due to an accident from falling.

Given that this is an ongoing problem, and parking restrictions do not seem to be of concern to the residents, I think that the best solution is to add bollards whilst repairing the street. It doesn’t feel fair for the council to repair the damage, only for the behaviour that caused the damage to continue.
