Poor Quality Pavement
Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 15:48, Tue 13 September 2022
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 375791.
Pavement resurfacing works completed recently are of very poor standard.
Drainage and power access points have been surfaced over. After rainfall, water sits in puddles as there has been no allowance for water runoff. Weeds and plants have already pushed through in many places and there are numerous tripping hazards where the surface has been poorly laid
It is already at a worse standard than that of the surface it replaced
I assume a highways team would have had to review and inspect this work upon completion and it doesn’t seem to meet highway standards
It seems the same contractor has been used for the resurfacing works along the highway also
It is disappointing that as little as possible has been spent instead of using a quality contractor who would complete a high standard job that won’t need to be replaced in the near future
