15 Readers Close, Dunstable

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 14:31, Wed 16 November 2022

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 378290.

Hi, Just wondering if you can forward me onto the correct department (Highways Dept) that covers the Dunstable Bus way pathway that runs along the back of Readers close Dunstable to join the busway? My son and daughter-in-law have a problem with their back garden due to the pathway that was made for the bus way. They have been living here for just over 5 years and have a son with learning difficulties that cannot go into the garden due to it having land slide at the bottom of the garden. The owners before them didn’t take this problem further and have the garden sorted. My son and daughter-in-law (Mr & Mrs D Gapp) haven’t as it wasn’t a problem until now as their son didn’t go in the garden. We now know a neighbour had her garden sorted out by the council back when she had a problem after the bus way joining pathway was built. It seems to appear that the ground was dug to far towards the back garden fences and has made all the soil and fences lean over towards the path way and the ground has got a land slide(see pictures attached). -----Email with picture attached sent to Highways Area team 3 You would see this if you looked from this side of the fence. It has happened all along the houses from no’s 18 Readers close along the length of the semi’s on that road. Can you please help as this seems to be down to yourselves that has caused this and we would like to get it sorted so my grandson can go in the garden next year for the summer. We cannot afford to get this sorted as we are just about making ends meet due to the cost of living. Can you please let us know if you can help otherwise we may have to take this further and speak to our local MP! I am contacting you for my son and daughter-in-law as they are working all the time so don’t get time to sit down and type this email to you. They are being CC into the emails to be kept informed. They live in number 15 Readers Close, Dunstble, LU6 1NT. Hi Samuel White I am coming back to you as I have been sent around the houses.

I have spoken to Luton Borough council and they only deal with the Bus way itself.

I have spoke to Houghton Regis Council and they have said its definitely Dunstable Council Highways department. So can you please pass this onto the Highways Dept.
