Grass verges and kerb
Reported via iOS in the Kerbs category anonymously at 11:18, Thu 19 January 2023
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 382153.
Please could you inspect the areas in my photos as lorries and vans are continuing to cut across the grass verge and kerb which is on the corner of Mallard Crescent. and Chaul End Road. As this is a Redrow estate I have informed Redrow but they have come back to say you have adopted this area and is your responsibility, so I hope you can rectify this awful mess. The problem is which I told Redrow that the corner going towards the village is not wide enough so lorries cut across the grass. It needs either widening or bollards as this will keep happening.

Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Our engineers have checked the highways adoption on insight and this section (corner of Mallard Crescent) is not part of the highways network as this is not part of Chaul End Rd this section is unadopted we would suggest the customer contacts the developer to discuss further
Many thanks,

Email from resident : Hi Varonica
Reference your email below. Could you please update me on your progress to improve the entrance to Mallard Crescent Caddington Woods.
Attached are recent pictures showing the disgusting mess this is getting into as this entrance is not wide enough to turn left and as vans and lorries are much wider than cars, they are taking the easy option by driving across the grass.
The annoying thing is!! I first reported this on the 3/2/2023 ( twelve months ago ) and still nothing has been done, all you keep saying is you will monitor it. Are you by saying this thinking it will get better as it never will, it will only get worse, which it has and either needs the corner widened or bollards to stop this happing time and time again..
I have asked Redrow to make the relevant repairs, but they have informed me that this corner is the responsibility of CBC so why is it taking so long to repair. As I said before this estate has only been here for six years and yet it looks like sixty.
