Exposed wiring

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 385490.

CBC lighting column has rear wiring cover detached, lying on pavement. Wiring is exposed and accessible.

  • This lighting column still has mains voltage wiring and sockets exposed to touch, as previously reported. Children have been seen standing by the open cavity and looking in. This should be a simple fix, so get it done before there's any injury.

    Not sorted. Cover was back in place but has not been properly fixed to column. Yesterday the cover was hanging out slightly. A turn-key is needed to secure the lock, and at the moment it can easily be pulled out, or could fall out again. See pic taken yesterday - cover was pushed shut afterwards.

  • Dear CBC, this cover which you did not refit properly has fallen open again, exposing the wiring to touch. As mentioned before a key is needed to secure the cover. Come on, CBC it really can't be difficult to fix it properly to avoid possible injury from contact with the wiring.
