Summer Street, Leighton Buzzard, lamp numbers 5 & 6.

Reported via desktop in the Street Lights category by Brian Goodliffe at 16:08, Tue 24 October 2023

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 396084.

Location: Summer Street, Leighton Buzzard, Central Bedfordshire, LU7 1HT Street lamps numbered 5 & 6. These were originally reported in November 2022! AND THEY'RE STILL NOT WORKING! An engineer has obviously been, as a new makeshift safety strap has been fitted over the inspection flap on one of them. But that's as far as it's got. Lamp number 5 in particular is outside the bungalow of a very elderly lady who lives on her own, and I'm sure she would appreciate having a working street light to illuminate her path to her wheelie bins etc. At least that way, someone might see her if she was unfortunate enough to have a fall– rather than lying outside all night with possibly serious injuries given her age and frailty. And having two adjacent lamps out means that there's quite a stretch of unlit road, close to the three-way junction of Summer Street, St Georges Close, and the spur of East Street.

Updates

  • Afternoon all,

Please can updates be posted to the following CRN’s.

    396084
    398299
    398529

It seems there is a power supply issue here, can you advise what the latest is please, when this was chased with the suppliers and a likely date these will be back in lighting. These columns have been out for a significant amount of time and are yet to be repaired.

Can the suppliers be chased as a priority and each of the CRN’s updated to reflect this.

    Kind regards,
